The male Bosmer, or Wood Elves, got the short end of the stick in terms of height — quite literally. Their males are the shortest in all of Tamriel standing at only 0. Interestingly, Bosmer women stand at 1. At 5'10" or 1. The Wood Elves' shorter stature allows them to be more nimble and agile in densely forested and wild environments, which is where they thrive.
Not counting the tail or the ears, the typical male Khajiit stands at the default 1. Female Khajiit are a tiny bit shorter, at 0. There are, of course, several different subspecies of Khajiit, but we're working off of the actual playable variety that appears in Skyrim. This puts the males on the average scale among the races of Tamriel, while the females are seemingly the shortest of all the races. Khajiit hail from the region of Elsweyr pun intended, as per the lore but tend to be scattered all over Tamriel since their most popular career options are in the vein of mercantilism — and thievery, of course.
One of the most popular outcast races in Skyrim, the Dunmer, or Dark Elves, are not an easy race to harmonize with — especially for the Argonians. They're of average physical stature, whether male or female, at 1.
They are among the most popular racial selections, given their predisposition to popular skillets and the fact that The Elder Scrolls III is set within their homeland, endearing them to long-time fans. Some of their most popular hobbies are shunning outlanders and entertaining a seemingly timeless rivalry with the Argonians. For those looking to create the perfect mage or wizard archetype in Skyrim or any Elder Scrolls game, they can't go wrong with the Breton.
They're all about magic bonuses and magic resistances, with their racial ability allowing them to absorb incoming spells. Still, their affinity for the arcane arts and intelligence didn't diminish their physical stature one bit. There are a total of seven snow elves; only Gelebor is unaffected by a form of undeath, as Vyrthur is also a vampire and the prelates are ghosts. They are all in the Dawnguard add-on.
Dwarves in the Elder Scrolls universe are called Dwemer. So Dwemer are technically elves and are depicted as short and stocky with long beards. They lived deep in the earth and were sometimes referred to as Deep-Elves. Dark Elves are only depicted a few times in the comic, but appear on average to be of a largeer build in comparison to average Drow, reaching 2. Kindly disposed to humans, good elves shape their humans with good habits and good lives.
Not all norns are elves though. I've always wanted to know the exact height differences of the races. I found this on a GameSpot forum, so I'm not positive it's accurate. Wood Elf Male: 5'3" avg, 5'7" max Female: 5'0" avg, 5'4" max Dark Elf Male: 5'7" avg, 6'1" max Female: 5'3" avg, 5'9" max Imperial Male: 5'8" avg, 6'2" max Female: 5'4" avg, 5'10" max Argonian Male: 5'9" avg, 6'3" max Female: 5'5" avg, 6'0" max Khajiit Male: 5'9" avg, 6'3" max Female: 5'5" avg, 6'0" max Breton Male: 5'10" avg, 6'4" max Female: 5'5" avg, 6'0" max Nord Male: 6'3" avg, 6'8" max Female: 5'9" avg, 6'2" max Orc Male: 6'4" avg, 6'9" max Female: 5'10" avg, 6'3" max High Elf Male: 6'7" avg, 7'2" max Female: 6'2" avg, 6'11" max.
Informative x 1. Travis Member. Thanks for the post. I had no idea that High Elves were so huge! I like being really big in games for some reason, so it looks like I will be steering clear of the Wood, and Dark elves.
Demut Veritas vos liberabit. By the way, why are there no Bosmer? I guess I thought "High" referred to like a royalty, or pure blood type of thing. I thought it played into them being prideful, and a little bit condescending.
Guess I was wrong Flamingtaco Active Member. Drow, also known as dark elves, were a dark-skinned sub-race of elves that predominantly lived in the Underdark. They earned their reputation as evil people, with all justification, though some members with more neutral disposition did exist, as did an even smaller number of actually good members.
They are a matriarchal, theocratic society in which the Spider Queen Lolth is the supreme Goddess. They harbour hatred for all other races, especially Elves and believe themselves to be the apex race. Drow had skin of dark grey to obsidian color and white or yellow hair. Rare hair colors included copper and silver, the latter believed to be a sign of a mentally handicapped person, a superstition. Female drow with blonde hues indicated the drow in question was of an older age.
Elder male drow had naturally silvering hair. This hair was carefully groomed and cared for by most drow and worn long with jewelry and other accessories decorating it. Like all elves, drow were incapable of growing beards, though many males were fond of long sideburns. Drow eyes were usually bright red, but some had different colored, often much paler eyes such as blue, lilac, pink and silver - these pale eyes were often so pale that they appeared to be white - in fact, their eye color could be of practically any color.
Sometimes a drow's eyes could even be green or blue, which meant that that particular drow had some surface elven blood in their veins. They were shorter than many other sub-races of elves, and while there was no average height difference between male and female drow, males were on average a bit heavier.
They usually varied in height from four feet seven inches to five feet five inches and weighed from 80 to pounds on average. Drow looked attractive, especially their nobles. This wasn't a coincidence but the result of selective breeding over several generations. Meeting beauty standards of surface races was surmised to be the most important reason, that surface dwellers were prone to turn a blind eye on the drow race's deeds and allow inclusion in surface communities.
Drow had reputation to consist entirely of evil people. This reputation mostly matched reality with a few exceptions few and far between. Drow were arrogant, ambitious, sadistic, treacherous and hedonistic.
