I hope you get it sorted out. And even if it was, it would still not explain why when I install and use a Linux distro for example without installing any official Nvidia drivers that is picture quality and color saturation just look normal again, very high detailed and crisp, no trouble at all!
Could it be something related to my monitor EDID? Sure but why Nvidia don't try and fix that? Very disappointed with Nvidia! That's all I can say - and never buying another Nvidia card again. You should post a screen shot. I'm failing to understand. Why can't you just put it in between those two? Are you simply unable to find a happy medium? Those things will also affect how you perceive color. If you never want to buy another Nvidia product again, it's no sweat off my back - I don't work for them, but I honestly feel like this is a problem that should be easily solved - regardless of whether or not your settings are on "default" by the time you're finished.
I don't think you should obsess over whether or not settings are at their default in order to reach a desirable picture. Between the five different sliders you have available to adjust color and intensity, forgive me for having a difficult time believing you cannot balance it out.
I think you need to just take a deep breath, slide things around a little, and make it happen. You can do it. It would be great to have a "neutral"or "Disable"setting for digital vibrance.

This thing does not output color accurately. I'm very frustrated with Nvidia's 2D quality drivers, they are horrible.
